Kappa Journal Conclave Issue (Summer 2017)

Kevin Louidor

Journal: What would you say is your life story? Louidor: In life, I go by the quote “The sky is the limit.” My experience growing up within a household of two immigrant parents from Haiti has shaped me into

the man I am today. Through these ex- periences, I have learned that everything in life is earned, not given. Growing up in a family that had to battle through adversity has allowed me to be grateful for everything life has to offer. It has also inspired me to work hard and strive

for success. Within my life, I try to set an example to my peers that no matter where you come from or your current situation don’t be afraid to take chances and reach for your dreams.

Journal: What motivates you?

Louidor: My parents are my motiva- tion. From when I was younger, I saw them battle through many obstacles. Although moments in their life were tough, they never gave up. My parents worked so hard in life to try and ensure me of a better future. Because of that they motivate me every day to continue to strive for success and lead me to remember that the sky is the limit. Louidor: Health service administration and marketing. Journal: Where do you see yourself after graduation? Louidor: After graduation, I plan to attend graduate school to further my education. I also plan to continue to work with and expand my non-profit organization, Tmrw Care. Journal: Can you discuss other com- munity service you are involved with on campus? Louidor: I am currently involved in several other community service initia- tives on campus. I am a charter member of Progressive Black Men, a community service based organization whose mis- sion is to eradicate negative stereotypes placed upon African American men. I am also a brother of Alpha Kappa Psi professional business fraternity where we work to develop young business professionals. Lastly, I am the current 2016-2017 University of Central Florida homecoming king, where I serve as a role model to the Orlando community. Journal: What is your major?
