Belot: Outside of Kappa Alpha Psi ® , I am also affiliated with another fraternity; Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity. I have been actively involved in com- munity service activities both on and off campus through that organization, ranging from conducting blood pressure and blood glucose screenings at health fairs to creating arts and crafts projects with the elderly. Journal: What are your hobbies? Belot: I enjoy participating in outdoor activities such as camping, boating and

Instagram and a Twitter page. Journal: What do you find are the most pressing challenges for undergraduate members? Belot: I feel that the most pressing challenges faced by the undergraduate members is the ability to connect with the alumni brothers. As an undergradu- ate brother myself, I get it. I really do. But looking at the bigger picture, before we know it, we are going to be on the other side. Why not start building that connection now so that we can make that transition smoother when we cross that bridge. Journal: How would you propose to overcome those challenges? Belot: I would propose that each of us maintain an open mind when it comes

Journal: Do you have a favorite subject? Belot: In college, all of my classes re- lated to each other one way or another. It just so happens that most of the classes I have taken involved some degree of math. Journal: How did you find Kappa? Belot: I found Kappa at Florida A&M University when I began noticing that there were people in high places who were Kappas. They have made mistakes during their tenure in Kappa that we can avoid making ourselves with their insight. We just have to set down our pride sometimes and hear them out. Journal: What do you want to get out of the 83 rd Grand Chapter Meeting? Belot: First and foremost, I would like to see Grand Polemarch Thomas Battles reelected as Grand Polemarch. Other than that, I foresee it being an incred- ible networking opportunity. We literally have brothers in all walks of life. I am looking forward to meeting new broth- ers and hopefully being able to learn at least one thing from each of them.

This has allowed for me to gain multiple perspectives and dip into a wealth of knowledge from a variety of sources, effectively allowing me to make sounder, well-informed decisions. Journal: Do you have a favorite book? Belot: I honestly cannot put my finger on one single book and call it my favorite. One series though that comes to that I thoroughly enjoyed was Left Behind by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins.

The beautiful thing about Kappa is that it uses this power and funnels it into our communities, investing in the youth and training for leadership. Journal: As JVP-Florida for the South- ern Province, what is your agenda? What will be your unique stamp on the position? Belot: As JVP- Florida, my chief goal is to maintain communication with the brothers of the Southern Province and establish further communication via social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. In fact, I have already created the first ever Facebook page of the Southern Province and I currently have a committee in place creating an
