Journal: What would you say is your life story? Spencer: I was born in Jacksonville, Florida the son of a Navy Petty Officer. Upon retirement, my mom and dad moved back their hometown of Mobile, Alabama where I grew up. I attended Tuskegee University where I majored Leonard Spencer

in Finance and was initiated into the Gamma Epsilon Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi ® . In that same year, I started my first job, was married to my college sweetheart and welcomed my first-born son into the world. A year later, my wife and I welcomed our daughter into our family. In 2002, I graduated with my Masters of Business Administration De- gree from the University of Alabama and

went on to work for the General Electric company. While working for General Electric, my young family moved several times. After moves from Birmingham, Alabama, Durham, North Carolina, and Louisville, Kentucky, we had enough. We wanted to settle down in one area to ensure that our children would only have to attend one middle school and high school. In 2005, we moved to Win-
