ST. PATRICK’S CATHEDRAL

With more than 5 million visitors each year, St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City requires careful preservation met with equally sensitive aesthetics. To obscure the scaffolding in place for construction of a glass wall at the Lady Chapel, mesh banners were hung between the columns behind the alter. DUGGAL’S ROLE In partnership with the cathedral’s trustees and creative communications agency, DBOX, Duggal produced the 11-foot-wide, 23-foot-high banners, placing a soft frame of straps around the piece, both to anchor it and provide balance for a seamless appearance. The column straps were camouflaged by sleeves printed in the church’s stone pattern from the center of the image.
