College – Issue 35

THE QUADRANGLE Branch & community events

Auckland

Marlborough

The Northern Club provided a stunning venue for past students, parents and staff of both Christ’s College and St Margaret’s College to gather and catch up on news. Around 100 attended the event, at which Garth thanked outgoing Executive Principal Gillian Simpson on behalf of those present for her huge contribution not only to St Margaret’s College, but also to the wider Christchurch community, and wished her well for her retirement.

Richard and Wendy Batchelor generously opened their home to the community for drinks the night before the 1st XV played Marlborough Boys’ College. A large number turned out for this event demonstrating how warm the affection for College is in the area. Old Boys and partners chatted with future parents and students, and travelling rugby parents, and heard from 1st XV coach Reuben Thorne, captain Sam Darry and Executive Principal Garth Wynne. The team were well supported by the locals and went on to win the following day.
