College – Issue 35

What a delight it has been to meet our younger Old Boys at several locations around the country. In a joint effort with St Margaret’s College, we’ve caught up with our YOBs and Margaritas – those who have left their respective schools in the last 10 years – in Auckland, Wellington and Dunedin. A mix of students and workers, thanks to all who’ve come along. We look forward to seeing more of you next year. Young Old Boys – Auckland, Wellington and Dunedin

The AGM of the South Canterbury branch was attended by 19 Old Boys. Once the formalities were complete, secretary Jeremy Sutherland (9243) went on to MC the gin tasting. Seven different gins were selected, starting at the beginning of the gin story with Bols Genever, followed by Gordons, Tanqueray No10, Hendricks, The Botanist, MGC (Melbourne Gin Co.) and Ink. The last to be sampled, Ink, being an interesting purple gin that changes colour when tonic is added. Tanqueray No10 came out the winner, with Ink voted the most interesting. The group was magnificently hosted by Tim (10816) and Brooke Black at Hector Black's in Timaru. The gin was served with lashings of cucumber sandwiches all round!
