steam, cooling, water and power. In order to propose the most value-adding solutions, Aalborg CSP dare to walk new paths and to challenge comfort zones. They assist their clients in all aspects which brings value to all project stages, from identification of energy needs to day-to-day operations. A design that is perfectly adjusted to project requirements will enhance technical, financial and environmental benefits of a given technology - three main criteria that form the building blocks of the Aalborg CSP value-adding design concept.

Aalborg CSP A/S is a leading developer and supplier of innovative renewable technologies aiming at changing the way energy is produced today. Relying on extensive experience from some of the most efficient concentrated solar power (CSP) projects around the world, the company designs and delivers green technologies and integrated energy systems to lower cost of energy for industries and power plants worldwide. The company’s main business areas focus on delivering solutions that utilize nearly 30 years of thermal engineering experience – experience that has left the company with a deep understanding of individual thermal energy needs. The history of Aalborg CSP A/S is rooted in the development of traditional power boilers. Applying general boiler principles to the solar industry positioned the company both as a well-known player on the industrial and district heating market as well as among globally leading steam generator suppliers within the CSP power plant segment.

LOWERING THE COST OF ENERGY FOR INDUSTRIES WORLDWIDE

In Denmark, the company has supplied a number of solar district heating plants including a globally unique CSP system for combined heat and power production. The project is the first combined heat and power (CHP) plant in the world to integrate CSP and a biomass boiler, while also usingOrganic Ranking Cycle (ORC) to turn the energy into district heating and electricity. This combination of innovative technologies enables the district heating plant to achieve record energy efficiency, lower energy prices and a future-proof solution that is no longer dependent on fluctuating fossil fuel prices. Though Aalborg CSP A/S have supplied a number of thermal systems, steam boilers remain a rock-solid solution within their portfolio. Their experience with traditional power boilers allowed the company to enter the CSP industry in 2007 as suppliers of various boiler equipment including steam generator systems, heat exchangers and solar receivers. They make deliveries to CSP plants in countries such as Spain, India, China, the United Arab Emirates and more. Most recent, the company has received an order to deliver steam generator systems based on the leakage-free header-and-coil technology for the world’s largest CSP project in Dubai. No matter what business segment the company serves, their core design principle steadily relies on a value-adding concept: to provide solutions that excel in operation, increase plant revenue and contribute to a greener future – and to do so at the lowest possible cost.

Brønderslev, Denmark. The first combined heat and power (CHP) plant in the world to integrate concentrated solar power (CSP) and a biomass boiler while also using Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) to turn the energy into district heating and electricity. Part of the sustainable CHP facility is an advanced, 26,929m2 solar energy plant from Aalborg CSP.

VALUE CREATION IN EACH STAGE OF THE PROJECT LIFE-CYCLE

Turning customer visions into reality is Aalborg CSP’s passion. The customer’s energy demands are the core value drivers, when developing the next generation energy systems, aiming to optimally meet the year-round needs for production of heat,
