301. MEDICAL/SURGICAL NURSING I. (7)

Develops ability to provide comprehensive nursing care to medical/surgical patients. Lecture 3 hours, laboratory 12 hours. Provides experience in administering care to neuro-surgical patients and patients undergoing radical surgery. Beginning experience in unit management. Lecture 3 hours, laboratory 9 hours. Beginning course in maternal and child care with emphasis on the nurse's role in the satisfaction of the health needs of the parents and new baby. Lecture 3 hours, laboratory 12 hours. Care of sick, hospitalized child; general ward functions of registered nurse such as supervising nurses' aides, and ex­ perience in clinics, nursery, and public schools. Lecture 3 hours, laboratory 9 hours.
