Africa’s digital and AI-driven economy is projected by institutions including the African Development Bank and the AU to add up to $1 trillion in value over the next decade. AfriLabs exists to help foster that economy and make sure it works for African people and communities, not just the markets best positioned to capture it. Through our activities across innovation, collaboration, and impactful investment, we are contributing to that shift on the ground, where it happens.
That ambition – organises itself into eight verticals, each one a specific arena where AfriLabs shows up, drives change, and builds the conditions for an economy that works for everyone. These verticals will guide AfriLabs not just through 2025, but through the decade ahead. What follows is an honest account of where each vertical stands after year one – the distinct story 2025 tells, and the foundation it sets for what comes next.
