In addition, to whom the payment is to be credited must be clearly stated. All students anticipating a need for financial assistance (loans, grants and scholarships) must arrange for their parents to file the Parents' Confidential Statement with College Scholarship Service as explained on pages 40-41. Applica tions for financial aid will not be processed until this statement has been received by Biola College. THE DEADLINE FOR ALL APPLICATIONS FOR ALL TYPES OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IS APRIL 1. A student is not registered and cannot attend classes until satisfactory financial arrangements have been made with the Financial Aids Office. REFUNDS Inasmuch as faculty engagements and other commitments are made by the col lege for the entire year in advance, the following refund schedule has been established in order that the college and the student may share the loss equitably when it is necessary for a student to withdraw: Withdrawal within first two weeks of classes: 1. Tuition-full amount less $100. 2. Board-pro-rated as of end of week in which meal ticket is turned in to cashier. 3. Room-pro-rated as of end of month in which student withdraws. Withdrawal after the first two weeks and before the end of the sixth week of classes: 1. Tuition-50%refund.

All refunds must be requested by a fully explanatory letter, date of receipt of which determines the refund period. Laboratory fees are refundable if withdrawal is before the final date of registration. SCHOLARSHIPS, LOANS, AND GRANTS The cost of a four year education is constantly on the increase. The sources and amounts of financial aids available to students are also increasing. Needs may be met with scholarships, grants, loans , and employment. Biola will make every effort to assist students who have a financial need, according to available resources. Biola College participates in the College Scholarship Service (CSS) of the College Entrance Examination Board. Participants in CSS subscribe to the principle that the amount of financial aid granted a student should be based upon financial need. The CSS assists colleges and universities and other agencies in determining the student's need for financial assistance. Entering students seeking financial assist- 39
