Mommy, where is Philadelphia? “ Where is Philadelphia?” asked the little girl in Israel, as she watched her mother unwrapping a food parcel from our Society. “Philadelphia is in America, my dear." "There must be wonderful people there to give us all these good things," the little girl mused. As a result of our Christlike ministry, thousands of harassed Jewish people in every part of the world have come to look upon Philadelphia as a place from whence much comfort, help, uplift, ?nd fQ,th have come into their lives. To them Philadelphia is not ¡«st « geographical location, but a living evidence of " Brotherly Love“ — a gentle breeze from a kindlier world amidst destructive storms. In this world of sin and corroding hatreds, there is a desperate need for " Philadelphians." You too may be a "Philadelphian" if, like our Lord, you have compassion on His kinsmen, scattered and lost without the Good Shepherd. By Marlene Nice, age 11 K arbara came running home after school and dashed into the house. “Mother, may I have the K.Y.B.C. meeting here tomorrow?” she asked. “Well, I suppose,” answered her mother. Barbara quickly telephoned the other club members and they all agreed to come. The next afternoon at 4:30 all the club members were there except Jean. Jack said that Jean had the mumps. Barbara suggested they send her a “ get well” card. They all agreed, so Jack said he would take it to her. First Nancy had a Bible quiz and Donald led them in prayer. Then Philip read out o f the Bible. Next Barbara handed John a slip of paper. It said “ Go to the swings.” All the children ran to the swings. There Sue found a note and it said “ Go to the porch and look on the chairs.” So they all ran to the porch chairs. There they found a slip of paper and it said “ Go to the old pine tree, walk away and there you’ll find a shovel; start digging.” Bill reached the tree first so he walked away three feet, picked up the shovel and started dig ging. He hit something, so he yelled, “I’ve found treasure.” But when he pulled out the hard thing it was a tiny box. “ There won’t be much treasure in that,” laughed David. In side was just another piece of paper. It said, “ Go to the kitchen, and look on the table.” When they got to the kitchen they looked at the table and they saw 12 glasses,' a pitcher of lemonade and a bowl of cookies. “Mmmm” said Bill. “This is the best K.Y.B.C. meeting I have ever been to,” said Donald. “Me too” said Nancy. Remember to continue sending your entries for our contest. Your original drawing in India ink, story 300 words or less and poem 12 lines or less may win a dollar for you.
