7. Key Findings Key findings from the survey indicate that the assessment of one’s own Industrie 4.0 Maturity Index is generally more optimistic than the industry-wide average. Given the high proportion of sales representatives, who typically have extensive industry exposure and insights into various companies, their assertion that the Industrie 4.0 Maturity Index of the (German) paper industry stands at levels 2–3 carries significant weight (see Figure 18).
