Yoga, Tai Chi & Kung Fu

GENTLE YOGA (ONSITE)

BEGINNER TAI CHI (VIRTUAL)

Reconnect breath with body. In this class we’ll use meditation and breathing techniques (pranayama) to calm the nervous system, move through postures (asanas) for strength, flexibility and balance, cultivate mindfulness and relax into a state of well-being. This class is appropriate for beginners as well as seasoned practitioners. You’ll leave feeling restored and renewed. Please bring a yoga mat. (recommended props: 2 blocks, a blanket, a strap and bolster.) Code: YOGA 01 Instructor: Susan Mittleman Location: Retreat Center Maximum: 10 Fee: $135.00 Day/Time: Tuesdays, 12:15 -1:30 PM Dates: June 7 - August 9 (8 Weeks) (Class will skip two weeks during the quarter, to be determined at a later date)

The beginner class will learn the 13 Golden Postures form. Tai Chi Chuan is a Chinese Martial Art that combines self-defense with meditation and breath control. It is practiced today primarily for its health benefits, stress relief and relaxation. The slow flowing movements are designed to stimulate the flow of energy or chi in the body with the ultimate aim of rejuvenation and increased longevity. The slowness also allows the mind to be actively involved so that one’s awareness directs the movements, integrating one’s body, mind and spirit. This class will improve flexibility, balance and overall well being. All classes will be held on zoom.

ALL LEVELS YOGA (ONSITE)

Maximum: 10 Fee: $100.00

This is an all-levels yoga practice with a focus on breath, (pranayama,) postures, (asana,) and meditation throughout. The pace is slow and steady to cultivate awareness, find balance, build strength, flexibility and relax into a sense of well-being. Please bring a yoga mat. CONTINUING TAI CHI (VIRTUAL)

This class continues the 13 Postures and starts the Short Form. Continuing students need instructor’s approval. All classes will be held on zoom.

BEGINNING KUNG FU (ONSITE)

In this class you will be introduced to My Jhong Law Horn kung fu. A northern style, we focus on stances, kicks, punches, and forms. Also, applications and self-defense. Wear loose fitting, athletic clothes, and soft-soled shoes. You will sweat!

INTERMEDIATE TAI CHI (VIRTUAL)

Maximum: 10 Fee: $150.00

The Intermediate class works on the Short Form and starts the Saber Form. This class will improve flexibility, balance and overall well being. Continuing students need instructor’s approval. All classes will be held on zoom.

TAI CHI - BEGINNING AND CONTINUING (ONSITE)
