CARBON NEUTRAL MERCHANDISE

CARBON NEUTRAL MERCHANDISE

At Fairware, we’re committed to action on climate change in all that we do. We advocate for progressive climate legislation; we’re working to reduce our footprint and prioritizing supplier partners who are certified carbon neutral or whose products are certified carbon neutral. What are carbon-neutral products? Carbon neutral promotional merchandise is products whose CO2 emissions related to their production get calculated and compensated for by a carbon offset project. The same goes for carbon-neutral certifi- cation at the supplier level. As businesses reduce the impact of their products and how they run their day-to-day operations, they can adopt carbon reduction programs and offset programs to help offset their emissions. Carbon offset organizations measure companies or product emissions and then offer reduction programs that clean oceans, plant trees and more - offsetting carbons with positive action. Many of our suppliers and brands are on a journey to become more sustainable, and providing carbon-neutral products is one step. In our Carbon Neutral Promotional Products Lookbook, we’ve included a selection of brands and products that identify as carbon neutral - read on to learn about their impact, what programs they utilize, and the products they offer.

C-FREE

Reduce. Measure. Neutralize.

The C-Free product’s impact reduces by 50% by first choosing recycled materials. Next, they caclulate all the carbon emissions generated within the products full lifecycle. Lastly, they neutralize the total carbon footprint of each product in the C-FREE program. The Carbonfree® certification purchases third-party, verified carbon offsets through Carbonfund.org and the funds go towards energy efficiency projects, reforestation and forest prevention projects, and renewable energy projects. By purchasing these offsets, they are removing an equivalent amount of emissions elsewhere in the environment - making each item in the C-Free line carbon neutral. “We encourage everyone to continually strive to reduce their carbon footprint through sensible energy reductions combined with cost-effective carbon offsets to eliminate their overall carbon footprint.” - Carbonfund.org

Planting 10 trees for every item sold.

tentree makes Earth-First essentials using the most sustainable (and comfortable) materials in the world. By planting trees for every purchase, tentree is making big change accessible to everybody and showing the lasting impact that one small choice can have. Additonally, tentree offers additional offsets with CLIMATE+ , so indi - viduals can offset their lifestyle - from showers, avacado toast and weekend travels. “Together, we’ve planted over 50 million trees. That’s huge. Those trees have removed millions of tonnes of CO2 from the atmo- sphere, lifted entire communities out of poverty, and reforested over 5,000 hectares of land (that’s equal to 12,000 football fields). We’re on a mission to plant 1 billion trees by 2030, and we can’t do it without you. So let’s keep planting.” - tentree
