Pin & Win Buy a Lexus Melbourne Cup souvenir pin and help support children to recover from the trauma of abuse and family violence. Established in 1995, Pin & Win is the VRC’s leading charitable initiative that has raised more than $6.9 million for various charities to date. The VRC’s Charity Partner for Pin & Win this year is Australian Childhood Foundation, a leading not-for-profit organisation that provides specialist therapeutic support to children to help them heal and feel safe, as well as educating and empowering communities to safeguard children. By simply purchasing a pin, racegoers can enter the draw to win more than $130,000 in prizes including a brand-new 2022 Lexus NX 350h 2WD F Sport Hybrid with automatic transmission, valued at $81,694. The commemorative pins cost $5 and $10 for a diamante horseshoe pin and are available for purchase on course and online at vrc.com.au. Merchandise Make sure you visit one of two merchandise stores on course over the four days of the Melbourne Cup Carnival, located in the Betting Ring and the Breezeway. From silk ties and scarves to stubby holders and caps, racegoers will find a range of VRC and Melbourne Cup Carnival merchandise items to choose from, including an exclusive member’s merchandise range. Lexus Melbourne Cup Barrier Draw – after the last The Lexus Melbourne Cup Barrier Draw sees one person connected with each horse in the final field for the Lexus Melbourne Cup, draw the barrier that they will race from for the ‘the race that stops a nation’™. It will be conducted in the Mounting Yard with formalities commencing from 5.30pm. This is an invitation only event, extended to connections who have a horse in the final field for the 2022 Lexus Melbourne Cup. VRC members and guests are welcome to watch from the seating decks of The Grandstand and The Club Stand along with the Members Lawn. This event will be televised live on Network 10 from 6.15pm. In the event of wet weather, the Lexus Melbourne Cup Barrier Draw will be relocated to the Bernborough Bar. Annual Fraternity Mass – Sunday 30 October The 64 annual racing fraternity Mass will be held at St Francis’ Church Melbourne (corner Lonsdale and Elizabeth Streets) at 9:30am tomorrow, Sunday 30th October, with Principal Celebrant being recently appointed Racing Chaplain, Fr. Cameron Forbes, Parish Priest of Mentone. Leading racing personalities will be in attendance and will assist at the altar. The Mass is held for people of all denominations representing all sections of the racing industry and is offered for the well-being of the racing industry as a whole.
