The good old fashioned pick up the phone and speak to someone came in joint second with paper communication at 9%. Website message was voted at 6% and trailing in last position was to actually talk to someone in person at 4% but this is not surprising given logistical challenges are going to play a big part.

Should staff be given a choice of festive benefit? 8 January 2015
The CIPP festive poll revealed that 69% of respondents think staff should have a choice of festive gift/benefit.
The CIPP Policy Team ran a quick poll from mid-November 2015 for five weeks asking, “Do you think staff should have a choice of festive gift/benefits?”
The question received 202 responses, 140 of which opted for the answer yes, staff should have a choice.
62 people (31%) thought that staff should not be given a choice.
How many of these responses are from the perspective of an employee or employer is unknown, but interesting results none the less especially in the recent climate where more emphasis tends to be placed on the total reward package as opposed to just salary. We reported on 9 December 2015 that after an implementation delay from government, the trivial benefit exemption will come into force from 6 April 2016. Legislation will be introduced in Finance Bill 2016 to provide a statutory exemption from tax for qualifying trivial benefits in kind costing £50 or less.

How ready are you and your software for the end of Contracting-out? 15 January 2016
As we draw closer to the end of contracting-out now is the time, if you aren’t already prepared, to consider your readiness for the impact on your payroll processing as a result of the removal of the contracting out NI categories.
Contracting-out of the additional State Pension on a defined benefit (DB) basis will end on 5 April 2016. This means that from 6 April 2016 employees will automatically be brought back into the State Pension scheme and will no longer be able to use a contracted-out salary related (COSR) occupational pension scheme to contract out of the State Scheme.
Eligibility for the contracted-out National Insurance contributions (NICs) rebate of 3.4% for employers and 1.4% for employees will also cease from this date.
The introduction of the new State Pension will bring with it some changes in what and how you report to HMRC:
