The Cathedral is known for its ancient and modern character, ranging from unique Romanesque stone carvings to world famous contemporary works of art. Chichester Cathedral is the Mother Church of the Chichester Diocese and is a vibrant centre for worship, heritage, community, education, music and the arts. This beautiful Cathedral is a flagship tourist attraction for the Chichester District and wider South East region. Each year the Cathedral receives over 200,000 visitors who can alongside the Cathedral also enjoy the historic Cathedral Close and the beautiful Bishop’s Palace Gardens and City Wall (both managed by Chichester District Council).
