La lecture de l’article du 6 mai dernier dans L’Argenteuil m’a fait sursauter. Que vous vous disiez serein, j’en suis fort aise, mais il ne faudrait pas mélanger les genres. Une ville est une création provin- ciale et, à ce titre, est régie par des règles très strictes. Elle peut subir une tutelle, une province non. Parmi ces règles, il lui est interdit de sub- ventionner une entreprise privée, et unOSBL dirigé par une ville devient une entreprise privée. Tout au plus peut-elle couvrir les coûts de déménagement d’une entreprise déjà installée sur son territoire, pas plus. Bref, une ville ne peut agir en matière fiscale comme une province. Celle-ci peut produire un déficit, ce qui est strictement interdit aux villes et municipalités. Votre réaction de sérénité fait penser à un conduc- teur automobile se faisant intercepter pour excès de vitesse dans une zone scolaire, déclarant « Monsieur le Juge, je suis serein car je n’ai tué personne. » On ne discute pas ici de la qualité d’un in- vestissement mais bien de sa légalité, d’avoir passé outre aux règles qui régissent les villes. Vous dirigiez une ville qui doit être le cœur économique de la MRC d’Argenteuil. Vous avez utilisé votre poste pour en favoriser le développement au détriment des mem- bres de la MRC en jouant selon vos règles et ignoré le bien commun. Triste fin de règne.
