THE K I N G ’ S B U S I N E S S
were excited over th e healing of th e blind man, for th ey knew th a t people born blind could n o t be cured even by th e best doctors in th e world. Some of th e people would no t believe it, so they called th e m an’s p aren ts and asked them if th is man was really th eir son who was born blind. The parents said it was really th e ir son, who had been blind, b u t they were afraid to say th a t Jesu s healed his eyes, for the Jews did no t believe Jesus was God’s Son, and they told these people if they believed in Jesu s they could no t come in th e church any more, so th e paren ts said the son was a grown man, and he could speak for himself. We ju s t love th is p a rt of our story, for when the Jews told the man who had been blind, b u t now could see, no t to give th ank s to Jesus, th a t He was no t God’s Son, th e man answered th a t he did no t know who Jesus was, b u t he knew th a t he had been blind all his life, and th a t
now he could see, and th a t if Jesus was no t God’s Son He could no t have healed his blind eyes. When he said th is th e Jew s pushed him away and trea ted him in a very cruel manner. When Jesu s h eard w h at th e Jews had done, He came to th e man and asked him if he would believe on th e Son of God. The man answered and said, Who is He, Lord, th a t I m ight believe on H im? Jesus answered, It is He th a t is speaking to you. L isten to w h at th e man said to Jesus. I t is our mem ory verse. (R epeat several tim es.) You see th is man proved th a t he really and tru ly believed, for it says, he wor shipped Jesus. T h at means he loved Jesu s and did th e things th a t pleased Him. d o s in g P ra y er: L et us bow our heads and th a n k Jesu s for His word, th e Bible, and ask Him to help us to do th e things th a t please Him every day. ¿¡4.

OBED IENCE Golden Text: “ Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.” Jno. 15:14.
LESSON TEXT Mat. 7:16-29. (R ead Gen. 12 :1 -4 ; Mat. 7:16-29; Jno. 14:21-24.)
(16) Ye shall know them by th eir fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? (17) Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; bu t a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. (18) A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. (19) Every tree th a t bringeth not forth good fru it is hewn down, and cast into the fire. (20) W herefore by their fru its ye shall know them . (21) Not every one th a t saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; bu t he th a t doeth the will of my F a th e r which is in heaven. (22) Many will say to m e in th a t day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy nam e done m any wonderful works? (23) And then will I profess unto them , •I never knew
you; d e p a rt from me, ye th a t work iniquity. (24) Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of m ine, and doeth them , I will liken him . unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock. (25) And th e rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon th a t house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. (26) And every one th a t heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: (27) And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon the house; and it fell: and g re at was th e fall of it. (28) And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished a t his doctrine. (29) F or he tau g h t them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
