E ffectual P ra y e r Need Not Be Dong. A little g irl once k n elt down a t n igh t and said, “ Dear God, I am very tired. Good night. Amen.” This is prayer. She was on speaking term s w ith God. Another little g irl prayed a t n igh t her simple “Now I lay me down to sleep, etc.*’ A t th e close she said, “ Bless papa, mamma, sister, me and Anna’s m other and m ake h er well.” Anna’s m other was th e m other of a little play­ m ate of hers.
