Three teams to EOSSAA for hoops challenge

The Falcons senior boys will now go on to Brockville for the two-day EOSSAA finals on Feb. 25 and 26, weather conditions permitting. “They were a very good team,” said Wildcats Coach Ryan MacDonald, about the Falcons. “The only losses we’ve had all season have been to SFX.”

A steal at the end of the third quarter saw the Couguars with a narrow margin on the scoreboard which L’Escale held onto despite SFX efforts to take it back. Top shooter for SFX onMonday was guard Jeremy Fidaoui with 28 total points. Monday’s court challenge at SFX opened with the senior boys finals as the Falcons faced off with the Wildcats from Rockland District High School. The game ended with 77-56 on the scoreboard but Falcons Coach Scott Stoqua noted it still was not an easy game for his players.

Le match contre les Tikis de Brockville n’a pas été différent des autres. Les Castors ont d’abord pris les devants, enmarquant le premier but près de trois minutes après le début de la partie. Zacharie Car est à l’ori- gine de l’unique point compté en première période. Il a été aidé de Zacharie Fournier et de Gabriel Rousselle. La seconde période a été plus difficile, alors que les Tikis ont mis la rondelle quatre fois au fond du filet des Castors, après uni- quement sixminutes de jeu. Les Castors ont répliqué enmarquant deux points en fin de période. Les deux buts ont été comptés en avantage numérique. D’abord, Tyler Pancel, aidé de Zacharie Car et d’Olivier Brunet, a redonné espoir à son équipe en mar- quant deux minutes avant la fin du second tiers. Une minute plus tard, le capitaine de l’équipe, Karl Larivière, a à son tour lancé la rondelle dans le filet. Il a été aidé de Zacharie Car et de Pier-Olivier Fournier. Cette période s’est donc conclue par un pointage de 3 à 4 pour les Castors de Clarence. Malgré un but en troisième période, éga- lisant lematch, les Castors n’ont pas réussi à ralentir l’équipe de Brockville. Les Tikis ont marqué deux autres buts en toute fin de pé- riode, dont un a été fait dans un filet désert. Le dernier but des Castors a été compté par Tyler Pancel, en avantage numérique, avec l’aide de Zacharie Car et de Karl Larivière. Bref, même si l’équipe de Clarence a do- miné en termes de tirs au but, les résultats n’ont pas porté fruit. Après 44 lancers au filet contre 29, ils n’ont pu vaincre les Tikis. Les Castors ont aussi perdu leur avant- dernier match, le 17 février dernier, alors qu’ils affrontaient les Royals de Stittsville. Ils ont perdu 6 à 2, les deux points de l’équipe ayant été marqués en deuxième période par Olivier Brunet (Zacharie Car et Tyler Pancel) et Billy Denham (Gabriel Rousselle et Suraj Bali). L’équipe locale a donc conclu la saison 2015-2016 au dernier rang de la division Martin. Sur 44 parties jouées, les Castors ont mis la main sur 13 victoires. Relevant du Directeur des Services communautaires, le coordonnateur des activités culturelles et communautaires doit coordonner les programmes culturels et communautaires dans la municipalité. Le titulaire doit également assister le Directeur des Services communautaires avec la gestion des programmes culturels et communautaires ainsi que les activités spéciales. Reporting to the Director of Community Services the Coordinator of Cultural and Community activities must coordinate cultural and community programs in the municipality.
The incumbent must also assist the Director of Community Services with the management of cultural and community programs and special events.
Requirements: •
The candidate must hold a college degree in event management (festivals and conferences) or a college diploma in technical leisure services or a university degree in science minor leisure; • Being a member of a professional association is an asset; • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in event management and/or in programming entertainment industry or related field; • Dynamism, discipline and professionalism; • Leadership skills and creativity; • Excellent organizational skills and very good priority-management skills; • Sales skills and negotiation; • Desire to work with the public and a flexible schedule; • Ability to work under tight deadlines and under pressure; • Aptitude for problem solving and teamwork; • Excellent spoken and written communication skills, in both official languages (French, English); • Excellent knowledge of computers; more specifically knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
