Counties of Prescott-Russell (UCPR) and also mayor of Hawkesbury, the host community for the power boat races that are part of the annual regional festival. He is challenging his fellow Prescott-Russell mayors to field teams for the Run the Wave recreational re- lay race that is part of the river festival and serves as a fundraiser for prostate cancer research. “Ride on skis, innertubes, anything,” Ber- thiaume said, grinning, during the March 6 committee of the whole session for the UCPR council. “We’ll see who raises the most money.” The Ottawa River Festival is a three-day regional event over the Canada Day long weekend for all communities in Prescott- Russell which border the Ottawa River. The powerboat race, sponsored by Poker Run America, is a round-trip rally between Rock- land and Hawkesbury. The start and finish of the race alternates each year between the two towns.
