Reducing sun exposure The outdoors is an enjoyable place, it is important to look after your skin while you are enjoying the things you love to do. Skin cancer rates have risen over the last ten years dramatically and the importance of slip, slop, slap, seek and slide has never had greater significance. Skin Cancer Four thousand people are diagnosed with melanoma in New Zealand each year— that is eleven every day. For Australians the figures are equally concerning. Approximately two in three Australians will be diagnosed with skin cancer by the time they are seventy years of age. Melanoma is the fourth most common cancer in men and women. It is easy to be alarmed at the above statistics however it is important to remember that with the right protection it can be preventable. You can lower factors with a range of preventable measures and healthy habits. PROTECTION FROM THE SUN 1

Australian and New Zealand summers provide some of the best weather in the world for outdoor activities. Both countries have an amazing abundance of things to do, from catching a wave at Bells Beach to white water rafting in Queenstown, there is something to capture your imagination. But the weather and sun can affect your skin, so you need to be prepared, rain, hail or shine.
