Championing Commonwealth Perspectives in Global Digital Dialogue
The Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation (CTO) made a strong contribution to global digital policy discussions at the 2026 World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum through three high-level Leaders TalkX sessions. CTO Chairman Tassarajen Pillay Chedumbrum highlighted the role of Universal Service Funds in delivering meaningful connectivity, Secretary- General Bernadette Lewis emphasised the importance of secure and trusted digital public infrastructure, while Head of Digital Development Leonard Obonyo moderated discussions on policy and regulatory frameworks that enable innovation and sustainable ICT development.
Together, these engagements showcased the CTO’s expertise in digital governance, capacity building and international cooperation, while reinforcing its commitment to supporting Commonwealth countries in building inclusive, resilient and future-ready digital ecosystems.
