Gloucester Historical Society A Friendship Forged in Revolution: St. George Tucker & John Page Presented by: Dr. Philip Hamilton, Professor of History, Christopher Newport University. Shortly after his arrival in Virginia in 1771, a 19-year-old Bermudian named St. George Tucker met and befriended John Page of Rosewell. Thus began a friendship that lasted for more than three decades. Dr. Hamilton‘s program will focus on how their political & intellectual relationship came to be stitched together during the tumultuous years of the American Revolution and Early Republic.
