CWU Trustee Retreat Agenda Thursday

A LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

The publication of the University’s Strategic Enrollment (SE) Plan fulfills the final and perhaps most crucial function of providing the campus with a clear vision of how we will collectively address the recruitment and retention challenges articulated in the environmental scan. Between now and 2024, groups of faculty, staff, and members of the University leadership will collaborate to achieve our recruitment and student success goals. The SE Steering Committee will provide regular campus updates, and there will be annual opportunities to collectively assess what the campus has accomplished, reiterate the next steps to achieve our goals, and engage the campus constituencies. As you read through the goals, strategies, and tactics, I invite you to consider how you can participate in this most important University work over the next six years. The impact of publishing the SE Plan extends beyond the stating our institutional commitment to these goals, strategies, and tactics. Implementing the SE plan is also a vitally important “call to action.” View the SE plan as a living document. It will expand and change. Next year its annual revision will incorporate goals for graduate student enrollment. What we’re calling SE Plan v2.0 will also include a comprehensive analysis of academic program capacity and potential for growth.

Let us work together to deliver on CWU’s unwavering commitment to excellence in teaching, learning and scholarship, student centeredness and engaged citizenship.

James Gaudino, President Central Washington University
