received their bachelor’s degree. Seventy-two percent of new freshmen returned for a second year in 2017; 82% of new transfers returned. The SE plan sets forth its goals, strategies and tactics not only for new student enrollment, but for the retention, progression and timely graduation of those students. The University is deeply committed to the success of all its students. By pursuing the strategies to increase the diversity of its enrollment, faculty and staff, the SE Plan will deliver on the Strategic Plan’s second core theme of inclusion and diversity. Finally, the SE plan is the University’s blueprint to achieve the fifth core theme of the CWU strategic plan: resource development and stewardship. To keep our promise to the students of Washington, we must assure the efficient and effective operations of the University through financial stewardship. The SE Plan identifies the enrollment management and marketing to ensure financial sustainability.

THE UNDERLYING ASSUMPTIONS

The Strategic Enrollment (SE) Plan is built on the aspirations we hold for our students and our faculty. The enrollment goals also reflect the core values that make us who we are, distinct among others. At the heart we are a teaching and learning university, committed to making graduation achievable for all who come here.
