Position Description : Under the direction of Kathryn Stewart , Program Manager and the Foster Parents, the Foster Family Support Worker will be responsible for: ➢ Providing direct care to children/youth with Complex Special Needs . This includes supporting children/youth with behavioural and/ or medical needs. ➢ Toileting, g- tube feeding, lifting, repositioning and other daily activities of living ➢ May need to perform morning direct care routines ➢ Medication preparation and administration ➢ Providing interventions including behavior management and medical protocols ➢ Create and maintain a safe environment for the well being of children/youth ➢ Understand and comply, at all times, with the necessary behavioural & medical protocols ➢ Valid G License and Insurable ➢ Work closely with foster parents of the youth Qualifications: Abilityandwillingness toworkwithchildren/youthwithcomplex special needs is essential; this includes knowledge and experience supporting children/youth with g-tube feeding . Note: The Organization supports individuals who may possess aggressive behaviors and may act out impulsively and can cause harm to those around them thus the Organization will help equip employees to best manage such events where possible.
