Clarence Creek Castors The Bytown Royals beat the Clarence Creek Castors 5-3 in a Royals home game last Friday night. Clarence Creek goals came from Matthew Clifford, Samuel Gaudet, and Patrick Lemay. Assisting on the goals were Mickey George, Nathan Melée, and Caleb Smith, with Andrew Larivière in the Clarence Creek net. Scoring singles for Bytown were Jonathan Cauchon, Samuel Constantineau, Nathan Gonyou, Gregory Knighton, and Samuel Paquette. Goal assists came from Cauchon, Constantineau, William Lachapelle, Nicolas Loyer, Luigi Peloso, and Joshua Renaud. Danik Gervais guarded the net. Sunday night at the Saint-Isidore arena, Patrick Lemay scored a hat trick for Clarence Creek with fellow Castors Samuel Gaudet, Kyle Green, and Logan Lefebvre popping in singles. Goal assists during the game came from Lemay, Lefebvre, Green, Mickey George, Connor Head-Smith, Nathan Melée, and Sam Paquette. Corey Camirand blocked the Clarence Creek net.
Saint-Isidore beat Metcalfe December 7 with the Jets losing 5-2 on their home ice. Sunday’s home game for Saint- Isidore saw the host team shut out 6-0 by the Clarence Creek Castors. Jacob Brunette fired in two goals for Saint- Isidore against the Jets with teammates Zackary Bougie, Alexis Leclerc, and Ismael Prudent popping in singles. Goal assists during the game came from Brunette, Pru- dent, and Kevin Howson. Sébastien Moreau guarded the net. The Jets’ Quinn Bowman and Zach Nolan each scored for Metcalfe and also assisted on each other’s goal. Other goal assists came from Alexander MacNeil and Tristan Staff. Dominik Turcotte was in the net. Saint-Isidore hosts the Gatineau-Hull Preuve que les efforts paient puisque les Panthères d’Embrun sont sortis vic- torieux du match contre leurs rivaux, les Royals de Richmond, au Centre Mémorial de Richmond, dimanche dernier. Ça faisait longtemps que l’on attendait cette victoire pour Embrun, et l’entraineur Darrell Campbell a eu raison de faire confiance à ses hommes, qui ne se sont pas laissé intimider par leurs adversaires. C’est à la fin de la 16e minute, en pre- mière période et devant une foule de 85 personnes, que Richmond, des Royals, a ouvert la marque pour les siens, aucun autre but n’ayant été marqué pendant cette période. La deuxième période a été prolifique pour Embrun. Revenus plus forts et plus concen- trés, les Panthères ont ouvert la marque grâce au but de Mathieu Plante, son premier de la saison, à trois minutes de la fin. Les punitions ont été nombreuses lors du match du 8 décembre dernier entre les Vikings de Casselman et les Aeros d’Athens qui jouaient devant leurs partisans. Les deux gardiens ont carrément fermé la porte en première période puisqu’aucun joueur n’a été capable d’enfiler la rondelle dans le filet. En début de deuxième période, les Aeros ont rapidement ouvert la marque à The Casselman Vikings and the Athens Aeros hammered at each for a three-all tie at the end of regulation play December 8. The Aeros won the game 4-3 in overtime. 2:21. Puis, à 9:37, le gardien de Casselman n’a rien pu faire pour stopper le tir de Tyler Stockman des Aeros. La troisième période a été bénéfique pour les Vikings qui ont trouvé le fond du filet à trois reprises grâce à Boucher, Green et Gagnier. La marque était alors à 3-2 pour Casselman. Mais Stockman a égalé la marque à 3-3, obligeant les deux équipes à se rendre en prolongation. C’est là que tout s’est joué. Dès le début de la période, les Aeros ont mis un terme à la partie avec un but de Cooper Kingston, qui en est à son quatrième but cette année.

Le gardien des Panthères, Cody MacEa- cher, troisième étoile du match, a été solide tout au long du match, stoppant 32 tirs. L’autre gardien a également été brillant, lui qui a reçu 35 tirs. En troisième, il aura fallu attendre jusqu’à la toute fin de la période pour voir le joueur d’Embrun, Matthieu Brennan, enfiler la
rondelle derrière le gardien adverse, don- nant ainsi la victoire aux siens et portant la marque finale à 2-1. Les Panthères ont disputé un autre match à l’extérieur contre Ottawa Ouest, le 13 décembre, à l’aréna Barbara Ann Scott. Plus de détails dans la prochaine édition.
