Professional Qualifications

A recognised professional qualification in a field relevant to the duties of the post. Experience of the policy formulation and management of a portfolio of Building Operations services at a similar management level. Preparation and control of budgets. Preparation and presentation of reports to senior management personnel. Track record of negotiating and working with professional consultants and external contractors. Strategic planning within a large estate environment. Track record of delivery of quality and VFM in Building Operation management.

Experience Required

Knowledge / Skills / Ability

Knowledge of: Relevant legislation and codes of practice; Building Regulations Part L and its application; Procurement procedures. Skills in: I.T.; Management of staff and external contractors; Budget management and control. Ability to: Manage time, prioritise and work to tight deadlines; Solve problems innovatively; Work within a large, complex organisation.

Interpersonal Skills

Strong oral and written communication skills. Motivator, organiser and team player. Champion of energy best practice. Enthusiastic and diplomatic.
