Dr. Bolena specializes in the management and treatment of vestibular and balance disorders including vertigo and fall prevention. During this time, he had the opportunity to work with individuals with profound mental and physical disabilities who had significant balance and gait challenges. Dr. Bolena’s research interests led him to co-author an article published in the Gait and Posture journal. “Kinematic analysis of postural reactions to a posterior translation in rocker bottom shoes in younger and older adults” analyzes the impact that rocker bottom shoes, such as diabetic footwear, have on balance reactions in older adults.
