Fundraising in memory of Minnie

Cantanti Concert raises £1,575 for the Ayrshire Hospice

Despite the driving wind, rain and even hailstones, 15 of our brave supporters and staff took on Tartan Warrior on Sunday 29 April. The stormy conditions were only one of the challenges they faced as they squelched their way around a 5K course through fields, hills, burns and streams, conquering more than 45 obstacles along the way. From swinging on monkey bars and crawling under barbed wire to balancing on tightropes and climbing over high walls, our team proved they were made of tough stuff! They supported each other throughout and crossed the finish line a whole lot muddier than when they started! Their fantastic efforts raised over £3,000 for the Ayrshire Hospice. Well done and thank you to all our incredible 2026 Tartan Warriors! Fearless to the Finish

Russell Campbell and Gemma Devlin came together to celebrate the life of their beloved mum and auntie, Minnie McNaught, who died in the care of the Ayrshire Hospice – raising over £6,000 through their combined fundraising efforts. Marking what would have been Minnie’s 70th birthday, Russell organised a spectacular celebration at the Volunteer Rooms in Irvine on 6 March. Aptly named Minnie’s 70th Birthday Bouncy Bingo Bash, the event brought together family, friends and members of the local community for a night filled with fun, laughter and remembrance. Thanks to their generosity and support, the Bingo Bash raised an incredible £4,737.50. Honouring Minnie’s memory in her own way, Gemma travelled to France to take part in the Paris Half Marathon. After completing the demanding 13.1-mile route through the iconic streets of the French capital, she raised a fantastic £1,500. Together, Russell and Gemma raised an outstanding £6,237.50 – an incredible tribute to Minnie that will help us continue to care for and support patients and families across Ayrshire and Arran.

Ayrshire Hospice volunteer Anne Noble organised a wonderful evening at The Balgarth Pines with talented singing group Cantanti. Guests enjoyed an evening of fantastic musical performances and had the chance to win some brilliant prizes in the raffle. Thanks to Anne’s hard work and the generosity of everyone who attended, the event raised an incredible £1,575 for the Ayrshire Hospice. Heartfelt thanks go to Anne, Cantanti, The Balgarth Pines, the businesses and individuals who generously donated raffle prizes, and everyone who supported the event.

Taking fundraising to new heights!

In March, ten brave supporters took on a brand-new challenge, abseiling from the iconic Falkirk Wheel and raising an incredible £2,467 for the Ayrshire Hospice. Facing their fears together, the group successfully abseiled 100ft from the top of the famous landmark, ticking another challenge off their bucket lists in support of the Hospice. The event was an exciting new addition to our challenge calendar and one that certainly isn’t for the faint-hearted! Well done to everyone who took part and proudly joined our team of Hospice Heroes!
