love among yourselves; for love shall cover a multi tude of sins.” I Cor. 13:8a: “ Love never fails.” When all else fails, Love never does. Even as a godly mother never ceases to love her children* the Lord never ceases to love us.” Our next garment is a dress. This is called JOY. This can be your favorite color. Remember that people give us happiness but only God gives us joy. Deep joy does not come from earthly things; it comes from knowing God’s Word and God’s will. Jer. 15:16: “Thy words were found and I did eat them; and Thy Word was unto me the joy and rejoicing o f mine heart.” Paul tells us in Phil. 4 :4 : “ Rejoice in the Lord alway; and again I say, Rejoice.” Another dress will be called PEACE. This can be blue as we lift our eyes heavenward and realize that “ He is our Peace.” Peace is that quality of tranquility which comes only to the child o f God. The Word tells us “ there is no peace to the wicked” but to us who know and love Christ, we have the peace that passeth understanding. John 14:27: “ Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid.” Col. 3 :15: “ And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.” Our next gown is LONG-SUFFERING. This color will be a little more somber but with a muted floral background as we think more seriously, but remembering the underlying blessings when we are obedient. We go to Webster for a definition o f this word. He says, longsuffering is “bearing injuries or causes for resentment for a long time, patient; not easily provoked; given to forbearance under in juries.” II Peter 3 :9 : “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness, but is long-suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” The next garment is GENTLENESS. This can be yellow or shades o f gold. I chose this color be cause, as Webster says again, to be gentle is to be “well-born,” not necessarily in a royal family. We have been born into a royal family and will one day wear a golden diadem. Also gentleness is the quality o f being tender and soothing, not rough or severe. I Thess. 2 :7 : “ But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children.” II Tim. 2 :24 & 25: “ And the servant of the Lord must not strive, but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, in meekness instructing those that oppose themselves, if God, perhaps, will give them Cont. on Page 25

O F c o u r s e , the first dress in any trousseau is the lovely wedding gown. This is white, which stands for the purity of the bride as she pre sents herself to her husband. So our first dress must be SALVATION, as we are made “white in the blood o f the Lamb.” When we receive Christ as Saviour, this is the most important step in life. John 15:3: “Now are ye clean through the Word which I have spoken unto you.” Rev. 19: 7, 8: “ Let us be glad and rejoice and give honor to Him, for the marriage o f the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white, for the fine linen is the righteousness o f saints.” Our second garment is LOVE. This I think should be a coat for a covering. The color will be pink or rose-colored, as we think of the Rose of Sharon, and wyap ourselves in the love o f God. I Peter 4 :8 : “ And above all things have fervent JUNE, 1969
