that could be recommended. Those that are currently on the market offer some help, but are lacking in a complete program. Several re sources must be used together to provide an adequate curriculum basis. Larger churches and de nominations would find it advan tageous to provide extended train ing sessions for teachers o f small churches who would like to learn how and what to teach in a course on the Christian home. Several excellent tapes that can be used for such courses are available from Campus Crusade headquar ters at Arrowhead Springs, Cali fornia. Dr. Howard Hendricks and Dr. Henry Brandt are the speakers presented on the tapes. The controversy over sex edu cation is a familiar sound, and perhaps it would never have risen to its present state if it had been provided Within its proper context —the home. The scripture speaks to parents to educate their chil dren in all things and this area certainly has been neglected. Here again the church can assist by: 1. ) Providing sex education for older children and youth. 2. ) Teach parents how to talk to their children about sex. Both programs are necessary as many children and youth who attend come from non-church homes and their parents would not take advantage o f the pro gram provided for them. It must be remembered that the number one problem o f youth (Christian and non-Christian) is found in the area of sex. (It is also inter esting to note that several years ago in the Lutheran Youth In ventory, 68% of the youth men tioned that they wished someone would help their parents learn how to talk to them about sex!) Books, films, and f i lm s t r ip s abound from the Christian posi tion and this emphasis could be a regular part of the curriculum. The final program that needs to be firmly and quickly instituted in our churches is the mandatory pre-marital counseling program. This too can be a part o f the regu lar ministry o f your church.
