Rebels take Canadian Broomball Championship in Alma
After several years of being in the top three of the Canadian Broomball Finals, the Eastern Rebels were recently able to complete their goal of bringing home the Gold Medal. The team consists of players from Vankleek Hill, Finch, Maxville and throughout Eastern Ontario. During the round robin, the ladies went through with 5 wins and one loss, and fin- ished off the Gold Medal Game with a 2-0 win. Throughout the week, the Most Valu- able Players (MVPs) included: Jenna James, Cashelle Baldwin, Cynthia Wever (2), Kyla Burwash, Amanda Smith. The MVP for the Gold Medal Game was Amanda Smith. The Rebels were fortunate to have five people named to the All-Star teams: 1 st Line All Stars: Kevin Kealey, CynthiaWever, Kyla Burwash; 2 nd Line All Stars: Amanda Smith & Janessa Byers.

Requirements: Must have a college degree in early childhood education (2 years) or a degree in early childhood educational studies from a recognized university (3 years) or have completed a post-secondary program in child development and family studies (3 years); Excellent oral and written skills in English and in French; Minimum of two years of experience working with children; Knowledge of community and agency resources; Sensitivity to people having various social, economic and cultural needs; Have well developed organizational skills in order to prioritize work; Ability to work effectively with teams from various programs department and community groups as well as representatives from the service sector and related professional agencies; Demonstrate empathy, tact, discretion and comprehension toward the participants and co-workers; Possess a valid driver's license and a car; Participate in the formulation and drafting of agreements in partnership with community organizations.
