Applies to: Enrolled students receiving Title IV Funding of any kind including PELL Grants, Federal Student Loans, TEACH Grant, FSEOG, and Federal Work Study. This also applies to students receiving VA education benefits.
A. Definitions: 1. Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) – refers to the minimum academic benchmarks for progressions towards the completion of the program. Word of Life (WOL) measures SAP by Cumulative GPA and the Maximum Timeframe allowable to complete. WOL’s SAP Policy for Title IV students is as strict as the school’s standards for students in the same program not receiving Title IV aid. International Students with an I-20 document: An international student who does not meet the required standard academic progress risks losing their student status. Without maintaining this status, the student is no longer eligible to remain enrolled and may be required to leave the country. 2. Evaluation Periods – WOL checks SAP at the end of each payment period (semester). These are called SAP Evaluation Checkpoints. 3. Qualitative Measurement (GPA) – Students must complete the program with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or better. At each SAP Evaluation Checkpoint, WOL will check to see if the student’s GPA is on track to meet this standard. Checkpoints are at the end of each payment period (semester). WOL rounds GPA to the hundredth place.

4. Quantitative Measurement – WOL does not calculate pace because students in the clock hour program cannot receive another Title IV disbursement until they complete half the hours and weeks of the academic year. B. Maximum Time Frame To improve a grade or replace an incomplete term, a student may require additional time to complete the prescribed curriculum. However, they must be on track to complete the program of study within 150% of the normal clock hours required to complete the program, as expressed in calendar time. WOL is a 66-week program, so when multiplied by 150% equals a 99-week maximum time frame, or 66 weeks X 150% = 99 weeks.
