Skills and abilities: • Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex information in a range of styles to engage a broad and diverse audience • Excellent organisational skills with an attention to detail and ability to manage projects to completion • Strategic insight and the ability to analyse and plan at a strategic level with senior management stakeholders • Proficient at complex problem solving and able to respond rapidly to evolving business requirements • Strong networking skills and the ability to develop and manage key relationships within the HE sector General and special knowledge: • Strategic space planning of buildings in a complex multi-building environment • Working knowledge of Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) systems, e.g. PLANON. • Working knowledge of specialist space planning software and database/spreadsheet analytics • Understanding of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and associated government initiatives • Knowledge of building regulations and relationship with space planning
Education and Training: • Bachelors degree or substantial relevant experience • Membership of a professional body, e.g. RIBA, RICS, BIFM • Project management qualification e.g. PRINCE 2 Relevant Experience: • Proven record of deploying space utilisation initiatives successfully • Experience of policy and strategy development within a similar scale organisation • Experience of developing business cases with supporting feasibility/optional appraisals • Experience of briefing and supervising external consultants • Experience of change management and defining of new ways of working Special Requirements: • Proven track record of delivering the highest level of customer service • Ability to demonstrate recent relevant professional development in areas relevant to this post and willingness to undertake further training as required.
