Alfred-Plantagenet joins SNC At the request of Alfred and Plantagenet, South Nation Conservation (SNC) has expanded its 4,200 square kilometer jurisdiction to include the entire township within the SNC boundaries. “It’s another indication that municipalities within or close to the SNC jurisdiction realize the value of the environ- mental programs that SNC offers to landowners and municipalities, such as tree planting, fisheries protection, and water quality improvement projects,” said authority General Manager Dennis O’Grady. Alfred-Plantagenet Mayor, Fernand Dicaire, is a member of the SNC board representing the United Counties of Prescott-Russell.The existing bond with the township has been strengthened by the fact it’s the location of one of the Authority’s showcase Conservation Areas at Jessup’s Falls.“Municipal council takes great satisfaction from the ongoing Jessup’s Falls project and readily contributes to its upkeep. Jessup’s Falls is known to area residents as a fishing paradise and offers good river access. In 2014, over 5,500 people visited Jessup’s Falls,” O’Grady said.
