But you should hear about it in a month or so.” The man with the thousand voices will be sharing the stage with Russell’s own Tara Shannon as an opening act. The recording artist and her 9-piece band will be perform- ing her original material, including her new release “Love Me Loud” from her album “Unfinished”, launched in February. For those who prefer, tickets can also be bought in person at the arena, on June 2 as of 6 p.m.
World-renown impersonator André- Philippe Gagnon is looking forward to his upcoming show at the Russell Arena. With all proceeds going to the Russell Sports Dome, the June 3 rd event will also feature Russell artist Tara Shannon. “There was such a good reaction from the Embrun crowd in February and it was very well organized, so I can’t wait to see how it’s going to unfold at the arena. For my part, I am preparing to have fun and I just hope it will be contagious”, he said, laughing, during a phone interview last week. Although he is not a stranger to bigger venues, André- Philippe’s goal is to always make sure that the party gets going. Whether one prefers Elvis, Barry White, Boy George, Guns and Roses, Mick Jagger or more recent artists like James Blunt or Milky Chance, André-Philippe Gagnon has many tricks up his sleeve, so people of all tastes and ages are in for many surprises. “The show kind of presents the history of rock. It starts from the 50s and it continues up to today. Similar to olfactive memory, musical memories are triggered by certain artists or songs, so my job is just to get as closer as I can to what people have heard over the radio.” As requested, the show will be in English. TAKE NOTICE that the Corporation of the United Counties of Prescott and Russell and the Corporation of the Township of Russell will hold a public meeting on the 7 th day of June, 2017, at 6:00 p.m. , at the Township of Russell, 717 Notre-Dame Street, in the Gaston Patenaude Hall, Embrun, to consider a proposed amendment to the Official Plan of the United Counties of the Prescott and Russell (file no. 080-OPA-17-001– Amendment No. 32) under Section 17 of the Planning Act , R.S.O. 1990, as amended, submitted by the Township of Russell. To give the public an opportunity to make representations in respect to the current proposed Official plan under Sections 17(15) of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990. PURPOSE AND EFFECT The United Counties received a complete application to change the land use designation from “ Agricultural Policy Area ” to ” Trade and Industry Policy Area ”, from “ Trade and Industry Policy Area ” to “ Agricultural Policy Area ” and from ” Trade and Industry Policy Area ” to “ Rural Policy Area ” in the United Counties of Prescott and Russell Official Plan. The Update affects the entire Township. Areas of focus include developing liveable and sustainable neighbourhoods, increasing opportunities for employment and industry, and updating the Official Plan based on the 2014 Provincial Policy Statement, and the United Counties of Prescott and Russell’s new Official Plan.
