Caulfield 27/11/2021 Cardigan Queen When questioned, rider advised that he was instructed to settle off the speed with cover if the filly jumped well. He added that after beginning reasonably well, there was speed from his outside which meant that he then preferred not to ride to hold his position but rather relax the filly, albeit further back than he intended. He added that after straightening he elected not to come out sooner than he did because in his view the filly was still building momentum and he wanted the filly to finish the race off.
