Company Telekom Srbija’s multimedia segment, TS Media, in cooperation with Belgrade’s Sava Centre, organised a series of free screenings of remastered domestic films over the course of June, under the scope of the project Film Lives. Over three cinematic evenings, large audiences enjoyed some of the most significant creations of domestic cinematography, presented in restored versions and with an improved picture and sound. Great interest among viewers in the films screened, including Beloved Love, The fall of Rock and Roll, The Feather Gatherers (aka I Even Met Happy Gypsies), The Written Off Return, Balkan Express and My Part-Time Dad, once again demonstrated that true film classics are timeless and occupy a special place in the cultural identity of our region. As one of the most significant projects for the preservation of national film heritage, Film Lives contributes year after year to the restoration and digitisation of the heritage of former studio Avala Film. Through this project, Telekom Srbija works systematically to preserve the greatest works of domestic cinematography and make them available to new generations of viewers. “We don’t only have an obligation to create new stories, but also to preserve those that shaped generations. Through the Film Lives project, Telekom Srbija confirms its commitment to preserving Serbian cinematography and returning timeless film classics to where they belong – in front of an audience ,“ said Aleksandra Martinović, director of Telekom Srbija‘s Multimedia Division. Film director Goran Gajić, one of the authors of iconic omnibus film How Rock and Roll Was Ruined, stressed that films really only live when new generations have the opportunity to discover, watch and come to love them, assessing that the new 4K versions are much more than a technological restoration – representing the continuation of the life of works that marked entire generations. The Film Lives project will bring to the audience a whopping 1,000 restored and digitised titles in a 4K format, available through the TS Media catalogue on the MOVE and Iris platforms, as well as on Superstar channels, thus confirming Telekom Srbija’s role as one of the key guardians and promoters of domestic film heritage.

– Naša obaveza nije samo da stvaramo nove priče već i da sačuvamo one koje su oblikovale generacije. Kroz projekat „Film živi“, Telekom Srbija potvrđuje svoju posvećenost očuvanju srpske kinematografije i vraćanju vanvremenskih filmskih klasika tamo gde i pripadaju – pred publiku – izjavila je Aleksandra Martinović, direktorka Direkcije za multimediju Telekom Srbija. Reditelj Goran Gajić, jedan od autora kultnog omnibusa „Kako je propao rokenrol“, istakao je da filmovi zaista žive samo onda kada nove generacije imaju priliku da ih otkrivaju, gledaju i zavole, ocenjujući da su nove 4K verzije mnogo više od tehnološke restauracije – nastavak života dela koja su obeležila čitave generacije. Projekat „Film živi“ publici će doneti čak 1.000 restauriranih i digitalizovanih naslova u 4K formatu, dostupnih kroz TS Media katalog na MOVE i Iris platformama, kao i na Superstar kanalima, potvrđujući ulogu Telekom Srbija kao jednog od ključnih čuvara i promotera domaće filmske baštine.

Veliko interesovanje gledalaca za filmove „Ljubavni život Budimira Trajkovića“, „Kako je propao rokenrol“, „Skupljači perja“, „Povratak otpisanih“, „Balkan ekspres“ i „Moj tata na određeno vreme“ još jednom je pokazalo da istinski filmski klasici ne poznaju vreme i da zauzimaju posebno mesto u kulturnom identitetu našeg regiona. Kao jedan od najznačajnijih projekata očuvanja nacionalne filmske baštine, „Film živi“ iz godine u godinu doprinosi restauraciji i digitalizaciji nasleđa nekadašnjeg „Avala filma“. Kroz ovaj projekat, Telekom Srbija sistematski radi na tome da najveća dela domaće kinematografije sačuva i učini dostupnim novim generacijama gledalaca.
