Yes, he has an upward pull and a downward pull. Did you know that there are two forces pulling on each of us, too? ■Christ said: “ I, if I be lifted up from the earth, w ill draw all men unto me” (John 12:32). He was lifted up on the cross. He is drawing people to Him today, but the things of the world often keep them from responding.. We have been studying about tem perance today, and here is a bottle re minding us of whiskey. We do not want this man to- be kept from Christ by whiskey, a cigarette, the theater, the dance, or any other form of evil. When the heart is willing to let Christ cut it free from every sin, He draws it to Himself, cleanses it from sin, and transforms the life. Don’t let the things of the world keep you from accepting Christ as your Saviour. 16 As free, and not using your liberty for a cloak of maliciousness, but as the serv ants of God. 17 Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king. 18 Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gen tle, but also.to the froward. 19 For this is thankworthy, If a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffer ing wrongfully. 20 For what glory Is It, If, when ye be buffeted for your faults; ye shall take it pa tiently? but If, when ye do well, and suffer for It, ye take it patiently, this is accept able with God. 21 For even hereunto were ye called: be cause Christ also suffered for us, leaving us, an example, that ye should follow his steps: 22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: ,23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that Judgeth righteously: 24 Who his own seif bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed. 25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
