In a polarized political environment, sometimes inaccurate information found on social media and talk radio, as well as in blogs and ads, can infect policy debate. Join Iowa Sen. Janet Petersen, next year’s chair of the Midwestern Legislative Conference, and her colleagues for a reception highlighting the host state for next year’s MLC Annual Meeting. 7 to 9:30 p.m. STATE DINNER AT THE GRAIN EXCHANGE ROOM IN THE MACKIE BUILDING The last evening event of the MLC Annual Meeting will continue the elegant tradition of the State Dinner. The grandiose Grain Exchange Room is a Milwaukee landmark featuring soaring ceilings and hand-painted frescos. It is located in the Mackie Building, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. Buses to the Mackie Building will begin departing at 6:45 p.m. from the Hyatt’s North OldWorld 3rd Street entrance. They will return to the Hyatt at the conclusion of the evening’s events. Walking instructions will be provided to those interested. The Mackie Building is a 12-minute walk from the Hyatt.
