• Elementary Music fees support 13% of the cost of elementary music teachers.
• Middle School Activities and Drama fees support 54% of the cost of middle school enrichment teachers. • Middle School Athletics fees support 66% of the costs of coaches and officials. The district supports all costs related to transportation and other program expenses.
• High School Drama fees support 17% of the costs of high school theater teachers.
• High School Athletics fees support 35% of costs associated with Newton’s $2.8 Million high school athletics program.
• Use of School Buildings fees offset close to 100% of custodial overtime costs.
List of All Fees for 2025-2026 (FY26) The following is a summary of all School Committee-approved fees and corresponding family caps for the school year. • Family cap refers to the maximum dollar amount a family pays for any one fee per school year. • Supercap of $2,075 is the maximum amount a family pays for all fees per school year, not including high school parking, the elementary school early morning program, or the school lunch program. Bus: Before 08/01 – Early Bird Rate of $415 per student, after 08/01 - $465 per student. Family cap = $830. Four payment installments available. High School Athletics: $415/sport/season. Football, hockey, and skiing $500/sport/season. Family cap = $1,245
High School Drama: $210/student/production. Maximum = $630/year
Newton South High School Parking: $415/year. Payable by semester = $208
Middle School Athletics: $240/sport/season. Family cap = $720
Middle School Activities/Drama: $110/student/year, $160/student/year in Drama
All City Chorus, Band, Orchestra (MS and HS): $225/student/year
Elementary School Instrumental Music: $225/student/year
