FRIENDLY
Club president Terry Denby: “Myself and my wife Marion have been members of this golf club for over 26 years. We joined this club all those years ago not because it was a great course (at that time, its best description would have been average!) but because it had the friendliest membership of any club we had visited. That friendliness persists through to the current day, plus there have been huge improvements made to the course
Lady captain Sue Jenkins: “I joined Badgemore Park because I found it to be a very friendly golf club with plenty of challenges around the picturesque course. I took on the role of lady captain because of the support I knew I would receive from all the other lady members. My focus is on being a worthy representative of the club during its 50th-anniversary celebrations and supporting the
membership to further their enjoyment of the club and their golf.”
and its facilities making this undoubtedly the best course within the surrounding area.”

Allan Harries: “What I like about Badgemore is its overall friendly and inclusive nature.” Past captain John Urban: “Badgemore is a special place with special people. You can always depend on support when needed. As a family, we had a very tough 2021 and the club was fantastic in all the support that we were given. Badgemore is my happy place!”
Theo Ziffo (past captain and president) and David Hawkins: “The SAGS – Sunday Afternoon Golf Society – started in 1975 and used to have more than 30 members participating. We used to organise social get-togethers and golf away trips; including to the continent and up to Scotland. There could be up to six or seven away days per
There are a number of club golfers who are in their 70s and 80s and still playing regularly. On reaching a milestone birthday in February 2022, Gordon Hannam was awarded an honorary lifetime membership. Gordon plays regularly (preferring to walk the course), and maintains a handicap of 16. What’s his secret? “Stay active, mix with, play with and be friends with people who are younger than you are. Oh, and never sleep in the afternoons!”
year.” Sadly, of the original members only Theo and David remain.
