her eighth year in a row and ninth time in total as the winner. Chloe Stanley (handicap 12), another of our young members, secured second place in 2021. Millie is also a multiple winner of the Oxfordshire County Girls and Ladies Championship. She is golf operations manager at BB&O, and so golf is very much a part of her life! When asked what the common misconceptions about golf are, Millie replied “It’s often perceived that golf is an old- man’s sport – it’s really not! This is something that needs to be changed.” The club currently has a strong cadre of under 30s in the membership, including a group of low-handicap siblings. Membership categories have also been structured to be accessible to juniors and younger adults. To make membership even more attractive to young adults, golf members are automatically enrolled as members of FOCUS, the state-of-the-art, boutique gym and fitness hub
