EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS 2 ADVANCEMENTS NEW

Monita & Jon Smith SOUTH CAROLINA From Your Head to Your Heart

“I talk about the Car Bonus program, which has allowed me to get my dream car. Never in a million years would I have thought I could have that car without saving up every penny! And I talk about how Jon has the option to come home if he wants. It’s on the table—even though he loves his job as a coach.” Monita knows her story helps others build the belief they need to start strong. And she welcomes the product- and business- success stories that team members and Preferred Members in her organization are excited to tell. In-home Overview presentations allow attendees to touch, smell, and taste Melaleuca products for themselves. But Overviews delivered via web conferencing, while they can reach a broader audience, can’t include the same sensory experience. That’s why Monita teaches her team to tell stories. Their web-based Overviews still have incredible power thanks to stories that create interest and touch hearts. And the rewards are flowing in. “Three of my team members are in Kauai right now,” Monita says. “One of them, my personal enrollee Thierrie Davis, advanced from Senior Director to Senior Director 3. And her personal enrollee advanced from Director 8 to Senior Director! They were sending me videos of them opening their checks—the largest checks any of them had ever seen! That was even more rewarding than opening my own check. I just know how much that’s going to impact their families. Best yet, all of them know anything is possible now. “At Road to Executive Director, everyone kept telling me this business will go from your head to your heart. That was the absolute truth.” JC

On any given day in Monita Smith’s team, you’ll see the Seven Critical Business-Building Activities hard at work. During the energy-packed weeks of the company-wide Fast Track, Monita helped her team solidify habits of consistent daily activity and accountability, and they haven’t left those habits behind. “In our team we have constant communication,” she says. “We do Power Hours morning, afternoon, and evening. We do our weekly huddle-up. At the end of each day, everyone reports their activities. We have Melaleuca Overviews scheduled Monday through Thursday, because the key is making sure every potential customer sees a full Overview so they can get the real picture of what our shopping club offers.” Along the way, Monita is sharing her own Melaleuca story. Woven into that story is her own why , with all the reasons she is building from her heart. “My reason is my family,” she says. “My kids. It’s knowing I’ve found a place where I could build real residual income. That’s how my son is able to go to college with no student loans. It’s how I’m able to stay home with my two-year-old daughter and be there for every one of those moments.

The Smith’s oldest son just completed his freshman year at The Citadel with a great GPA—and one of Monita’s latest Melaleuca checks just paid for next year’s tuition!
