Georgia-Pacific Buys PAX Corrugated Products Georgia-Pacific (GP), Atlanta, Georgia, has acquired PAX Corrugated Products to expand its corrugated packaging business for an undisclosed sum. With a workforce of more than 100 staf f in Lebanon, Ohio, PAX operates a corrugated sheet facil- ity. On completion of the acquisition, PAX employees will become a part of the GP team. Founded in 1991, PAX Corrugated Products offers services to food, pharmaceuticals, automotive and various consumer products industries. The firm specializes in manufacturing flexographic printed corrugated boxes, point of purchase (POP) display, corrugated sheet conversion, flexographic printing, finished boxes and die cuts. The company uses high speed flexo folder gluers, rotary and flat bed die cutting and litho laminating, to support short run box making and folding/gluing of autobottom boxes, sleeves and pre-glued trays. The GP Corrugated operations delivers a suite of products and services such as CubeLogic, Green- shield, Color-Box, Litho-Corr and Brand Ready Pack- aging. GP, a unit of Koch Industries, employs 35,000 people at more than 200 facilities across the globe.

Sonoco Finalizes Clear Lam Acquisition Diversified global packaging company Sonoco has completed the acquisition of Clear Lam Packaging for approximately $170 million in cash. Founded in 1969, Clear Lam specializes in the de- velopment, production and conversion of high barri- er f lexible and forming films used to package a variety of products for consumer packaged goods companies and retailers, with a focus on structures used for perishable foods. The company operates manufacturing facilities in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, and Nanjing, China.
