Anthem, Marque, Schawk Win Package Design Awards SGK, a division of Matthews International Corpora- tion, won seven Gold, Silver and Bronze Vertex Awards for Private Brand package design. The Vertex Awards are reportedly the only global competition devoted exclusively to the art of Private Brand pack- age design. This year’s Vertex Awards IV competition included more than 300 entries from 25 countries and 49 re- tailers from each of the inhabited continents of the world: North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Australia. In the Packaged Goods category, Anthem was awarded Vertex Gold for its private brand design Sam’s Choice Honey for Walmart. In the Redesigned Brand category, Anthem was awarded Vertex Silver for its private brand design Sam’s Choice for Walmart. In the New Brand category, Marque Brand Consul- tants (SGK’s regional brand development agency in Australia) was awarded Vertex Gold for its private brand designYour Majesty for Woolworths Limited In the New Brand category, Marque Brand Consul- tants was awarded Vertex Silver for its private brand design Smitten for Woolworths Limited In the Holiday or Limited Edition category, Marque Brand Consultants was awarded Vertex Bronze for its private brand design Woolworths Christmas 2016 for Woolworths Limited Australia In the Healthcare category, Marque Brand Consul- tants was awarded Vertex Bronze for its private brand design Little Ones for Woolworths Limited In the Redesigned Brand category, Schawk was awarded Vertex Bronze for its photo production and production design Portfolio for Lowe’s. InfoTrends To Survey Brands About Package Printing InfoTrends, a division of Keypoint Intelligence, has announced the launch of a new study that aims to help label and packaging equipment vendors and converters increase demand for digital printing by understanding the needs of consumer brands, quanti- fying the business impact of digital printing, and pro- viding resources to educate the market. Digital Printing for Packaging: What Do Brands Need? will reportedly provide results from extensive survey and interview research with brand owners to understand the priorities and needs that drive their print purchases, also their perceptions of digital print- ing, converter selection criteria, and future plans.
