Achievements of Note:

Special Services to Children and Families: The Empower Program has been added to the continuum of services provided by our Special Services to Children and their Families program. This program fills an important missing link in the services we provide to those in our community that have a developmental disability. Now, when a client turns 19 years old, they have the option to continue with the Empower program using their fund from the CLBC. IS was awarded a 2.5-year IRCC funded Service Delivery Improvement Project: Options Grounded Space. This project uses innovative research methods to probe service gaps for newcomer seniors and newcomers with disabilities; in partnership with InWithForward, our Options team (Impact Producer, Impact Designer and Cultural Broker) using design thinking to co-create innovative settlement supports.  IS was awarded a 2-year Choose to Move Project funded by UWLM; in partnership with UBC Active Aging Research Team. This project affords us an opportunity to expand our services for newcomer seniors. The project caters activities to isolated newcomer seniors with the aim at improving their physical and social well-being as well as their mental health.  IS was awarded a 1-year ESDC funding to expand its outreach services for Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs) as well as to increase our participation in and contributions to the newly formed B.C. Migrant Workers Support Network Pilot tasked to improve the working conditions of TFWs  Community Connections Program (CCP) was awarded a BC Multicultural grant to develop Open Studio, which is a project to showcase newcomer talents and foster opportunities for newcomers to network. Also, CCP partnered with Equitas to create the Human Rights Bench Project, which is a youth-led inter-generational project where newcomer youth and seniors decorated a bench to generate dialogue on human rights. Employment Services: Employment Services was awarded two new, 5-year WorkBC contracts. With these additional contracts, we have been able to expand our employment services to include delivering WorkBC Services in the catchments of North Surrey and Surrey Newton. Both of these new contracts have a possibility of extensions for an additional 4 years. The expansion of our Employment Services has resulted in an increase of staff capacity from 34 to 46 staff with approximately 40 additional staff from partner agencies. This expansion has also provided staff with opportunities to move into leadership roles as well as to advance in their professional development. Immigrant Services (IS): 
